Construction of the electrolysis plant in Schweinfurt.

In May 2026, Tyczka opened the Schweinfurt-Hafen hydrogen station. It is intended to become the core of the Tyczka-H2-Hub. It has a capacity of 1,000 kilograms of hydrogen daily. With 350 and 700 bar, it covers all common vehicle types, with a focus on heavy-duty transport, buses, and municipal as well as industrial fleets. The location on the A70 is also fitting.

In the 4th quarter of 2026, the commissioning of a 6 MW electrolysis plant at the same location is planned. It is expected to deliver about 600 tons of hydrogen annually. Also planned are six trailer fillings with different pressure levels. The RFNBO certification of the hydrogen is in preparation. The project received a grant of 5 million euros from the BayFELI program.

Since 2025, the 5 MW electrolysis in Hünfeld near Fulda has been in operation. The plant in the logistics park on the A7 with a capacity of 500 tons of hydrogen annually was built by Abo Energy and taken over by Tyczka in August 2026. It has two trailer fillings with 200 and 300 bar as well as two filling stations for 350 bar. The electrolysis plant also has RFNBO certification.
