The European capacity booking platform Prisma now supports the reservation and booking of transport capacities in emerging hydrogen networks. In January 2026, the Danish network operator Energinet started capacity sales for its first large-scale hydrogen transport project, the Danish Hydrogen Backbone, via Prisma. Registration and allocation are conducted through the platform.
Gas Market Processes as a Template
“We take what works in the gas market and adapt it for hydrogen,” says Götz Lincke, Managing Director of Prisma. “First movers need reliable processes, transparency, and a platform that is ready today – not proprietary single solutions.”
According to Prisma, the platform brings more than a decade of experience in the European gas market. It connects around 5,000 active users and more than 1,000 companies. The cloud-based solution is now being expanded to hydrogen and offers familiar procedures for registration, capacity allocation, and booking – including so-called first-come-first-served mechanisms.
Market Orientation from the Start
“The ramp-up of hydrogen infrastructure will depend on whether projects are market-oriented from the start,” says Lincke. “Our role is to offer a neutral European platform that supports this transition and helps early adopters move from strategy to implementation.” In addition to capacity allocation, Prisma also offers API-based automation of booking processes and structured training concepts through its in-house Prisma University.
