Hylane expands management board to include CFO Maximilian Draxler

The 33-year-old Maximilian Draxler previously served as Head of Finance at Cologne-based Hylane and will now manage the company together with Sara Schiffer and Bernd Zens. Draxler has been with Hylane since its founding in 2021 and played a key role in building up the company. Among other things, he developed the usage-based rental model for “emission-free” commercial vehicles and was responsible for vehicle procurement and the development of financial processes. Since 2024, he has also headed the Dutch subsidiary Hylane Netherlands B.V. and has driven the market entry there.

In his new role, Draxler will remain responsible for the finance division. In addition, he will take over responsibility for legal affairs and internationalization.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to now also take on responsibility for Hylane as part of the management board,” Draxler is quoted as saying in the statement. “Together with Sara Schiffer and Bernd Zens, I want to help further develop the company sustainably in the interests of our customers and partners.”

Before joining Hylane, Draxler worked in investment management at DEVK Versicherungen, Hylane’s parent company. He has experience in infrastructure investments and private equity. Since 2024, he has represented Hylane on the advisory board of Green Hydrogen Technology, a company focused on hydrogen production from non-recyclable waste.

Hylane was founded in 2021 with the goal of establishing a rental model for hydrogen trucks. Battery-electric vehicles are now also part of the offering. Customers pay per kilometer driven. Hylane handles vehicle procurement, maintenance, insurance, access to energy supply, and regulatory management including CO2 verification. According to the company, demand for emission-free commercial vehicles is continuously growing in Germany and Europe. Hylane sees itself as an established provider in this market.
