Infrastructure for Europe's largest hydrogen bus fleet grows

Air Products has commissioned a new hydrogen refueling station in Meckenheim, in the south of North Rhine-Westphalia. The facility will supply the bus fleet of Regionalverkehr Köln GmbH (RVK) and is part of an infrastructure project for emission-free mobility in the Rhein-Sieg district.

Lhyfe supplies RFNBO hydrogen for bus fleet in Germany

Lhyfe has concluded a supply contract for approximately 90 tonnes of RFNBO-certified hydrogen with a German filling station operator. The hydrogen is to be used for refueling a bus fleet over a period of 15 months.

Ballard unveils new FCmove-SC fuel cell module for city buses

Ballard has introduced its new FCmove-SC fuel cell module, purpose-built for city buses. The module is designed to bring the operating costs of fuel cell drives closer to those of diesel engines. The focus is on technical improvements and streamlined integration.

According to Daimler Buses, the “H2 Coach”, currently undergoing road testing, can travel 800 kilometers on a single tank. This gives it a longer range than battery-electric coaches – with shorter refueling times.

Daimler Buses has put its first coach with a fuel cell drive system on the road. The technology demonstrator is based on components from the GenH2 Truck and is designed to achieve a range of at least 800 kilometers.

Germany launches new funding round for fuel cell buses

The Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMV) has launched a new call for funding to support the conversion of bus fleets to alternative drive systems. Fuel cell buses and related infrastructure are also eligible for funding. Project outlines can be submitted until August 31.

The administration of the Lithuanian capital has launched the construction of a hydrogen production facility in cooperation with district heating provider Vilnius Heat Networks and infrastructure company MT Group.
