The agreement is already moving into concrete cooperation, according to both companies. They are exploring opportunities in alkaline electrolysis, hydrogen systems, and industrial project delivery. The cooperation is structured on a project-by-project basis, with both companies continuing to operate independently. Individual projects, orders, and services will be agreed on separately.
Hydrogenera, a European hydrogen technology company, covers the value chain from electrolyzer technology and system design through balance-of-plant engineering, integration, manufacturing, and industrial deployment. Stargate Hydrogen, based in Tallinn, Estonia, develops alkaline electrolyzer stacks for industrial green hydrogen production. According to the company, its stack design eliminates the need for precious metals, which is intended to lower production costs and strengthen Europe's hydrogen supply chain.
Potential areas of collaboration named by the companies include alkaline electrolyzer stack solutions, system integration, and complete hydrogen system delivery. The two firms may also pursue opportunities in industrial applications, demonstration projects, and consortium activities. Stargate Hydrogen targets energy-intensive sectors transitioning away from gray hydrogen, including refining, ammonia, methanol, e-methane, and steel production.
"Industrial hydrogen projects require more than strong individual technologies. They require complete systems that are engineered, integrated, and delivered for real operating conditions," said Dragomir Ivanov, CEO of Hydrogenera.
