Since 2020, H2 Powercell has been offering modular hydrogen systems for stationary use from its headquarters in Emsdetten. The company develops plug-and-play solutions for the production, storage and utilisation of hydrogen. Target groups include municipalities, business parks, microgrid operators and companies with their own solar or wind power generation.
The product portfolio includes containerised systems such as the “H2PowerCube” and the cabinet-based “H2SecurePower”. Both systems integrate electrolysis, fuel cell and battery technologies. At the heart of each solution is the company’s proprietary electrolyser, the “H2Powerlyzer”, which is also available as a standalone component. The systems are designed for applications such as combined heat and power (CHP), backup power for critical infrastructure and grid-supportive operation in the capacity market.
Energy and project expertise from a single group
H2 Powercell is backed by BEN-Tec, a company with more than 25 years of experience in energy consulting. BEN-Tec supports the planning of decentralised electricity and heat systems, the acquisition of funding, and approval procedures. Hydro-Generation, based in Rheine, complements the group as a general contractor for turnkey hydrogen plants, taking responsibility for project management and the coordination of all partners involved.
The group’s solutions are tailored to the growing demand for decentralised, zero-emission energy systems. According to the company, these systems are designed to enhance the resilience of critical infrastructure and enable off-grid energy supply.
Applications for the modular CHP system
H2 Powercell’s products are aimed at operators of hydrogen filling stations, renewable energy producers and municipal grid operators. Hotels, businesses and residential districts with their own power generation are also part of the target group. The systems are designed for easy integration and modular expansion.
