The Thermo Condens gas condensing boiler from Weishaupt is, in a special version, also approved for operation with pure hydrogen – following a conversion, however.
The hydrogen variant features a new burner surface and combustion control with UV flame monitoring. These are also in use in the H2HoWi hydrogen project in Holzwickede, in the service area of Westnetz, at three test customers, and can be viewed in a Weishaupt showroom.
The standard series has intelligent combustion control for the air-to-gas ratio. This is intended to allow it to switch easily between different fuels – LPG, biomethane and, of course, natural gas, the latter with up to 20 percent hydrogen blended in.
