Verde Hydrogen has received the order from the China Coal Energy Group for the equipment of the first phase of a project for off-grid production of green hydrogen. According to Verde Hydrogen, it is a reference project for off-grid hydrogen production in the Chinese heavy industry. According to the company, leading Chinese electrolyser manufacturers participated in the public tender. Verde Hydrogen claims to have prevailed with a technical offer based on electrolysis core technology, plant parameters, and system design.
Electrolysers use electricity from directly coupled renewable energy plants
The contract includes four alkaline electrolysers with a capacity of 1,200 Nm³/h each. In addition, there is an integrated plant for gas-liquid separation and hydrogen purification with a total capacity of 4,800 Nm³/h. Verde Hydrogen refers to it as a "4-in-1 system". The plant is to be operated exclusively with self-generated renewable electricity and provide high-purity hydrogen for the decarbonisation of heavy industrial processes.
