Thyssenkrupp nucera plans to establish production of electrolysis modules in India together with Indian state-owned company BHEL. The companies also intend to jointly participate in tenders for projects.

Hydrogenera and Stargate Hydrogen have signed a framework cooperation agreement covering industrial hydrogen projects across Europe. The two European companies plan to combine Stargate's next-generation alkaline electrolyzer stacks with Hydrogenera's system integration expertise.

French green hydrogen producer Lhyfe has expanded its European transport fleet to 84 Type IV tube trailers. With ten newly delivered Hexagon Purus containers, the company aims to strengthen its bulk hydrogen supply chain, which surpassed more than 1,000 deliveries in 2025.

Techfem has completed construction of Calabria's first Hydrogen Valley in Lamezia Terme. The production and distribution hub for green hydrogen, developed for operator Teca Gas, centres on PEM electrolyzer with 2 MW capacity and is scheduled to begin operations in September 2026 after regulatory inspections.

The French firm Mantle8 has been granted two exploration permits by Spain's Directorate-General for Energy Policy and Mines. The Aralar I and Aralar II licenses cover approximately 960 square kilometers across Navarre and the Basque Country, authorizing exploration for natural hydrogen and helium.

The biggest obstacle to hydrogen imports is not cost but the slow pace of EU regulation, according to Cornelius Matthes of DII Desert Energy in the podcast The Hydrogen Elevator. Laurent Antony of the International Partnership for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells in the Economy (IPHE), an intergovernmental partnership working to establish common rules for hydrogen, shares that assessment. At the same time, he points to significant progress and stresses the need to develop shared solutions.

A coalition of 16 German and European business associations is calling for a European hydrogen alliance at the member state level. Germany is to take a leading role in this. Although progress is being made, it remains behind the requirements.

The US company Verde Hydrogen supplies core components for off-grid production of green hydrogen for the China Coal Energy Group. The order includes four alkaline electrolysers, each with 1,200 Nm³/h, as well as an integrated unit for gas-liquid separation and purification.

A Finnish research consortium intends to introduce hydrogen from methane pyrolysis into steel production. The FutSteel project has a budget of 17 million euros, starts in June 2026, and runs for three years. It is led by the University of Oulu and the steel company SSAB.

The municipality of Bosbüll in North Frisia is expanding its district heating network. In the future, process heat from local hydrogen production will also be fed into the system. Construction is scheduled to begin in fall 2025.

The Swiss company Infener wants to promote hydrogen throughout Europe. Decentralized H₂ hubs will be used to generate green electricity as well as green heat. The Ecore One is a compact containerized solution that combines various energy technologies in one unit: electrolyzer, fuel cell and battery as well as compressor and a heat pump with its own energy management system or EMS. H₂ production is due to start 2027 at a site in the Black Forest, Germany. However, the needs of regional industry are already far greater today.

The pharmaceutical company Teva has put its first hydrogen truck into operation. The vehicle, an Iveco S-eWay Fuel Cell, comes from Hylane's rental fleet and is intended to transport medicines around Ulm as well as on long-distance routes in southern Germany.

Witt Gas Controls has developed a check valve specifically for PEM fuel cells in industrial trucks. The Ultra 22 opens at around 4 mbar and is intended to increase the efficiency of the fuel cell systems of a North American manufacturer.

According to Fraunhofer ISE, Ireland can become a significant player in the hydrogen economy. In the HYreland project, researchers analyzed potentials and costs. For export to Germany, pipeline transport to Stade or Rotterdam would be the most cost-effective.

The Stadtwerke Stuttgart have begun constructing a hydrogen pipeline approximately four kilometres long along the Neckar. It is intended to transport green hydrogen from the planned Green Hydrogen Hub in the Stuttgart harbour to consumers in three city districts.
