It was full in Hannover, at least so full that almost all the halls on the exhibition grounds were occupied. Dr. Jochen Köckler, CEO of Deutsche Messe AG, put the number of exhibitors at 6,500 – just as high as in the comparable year 2017. At 215,000, the number of visitors was somewhat higher than in 2018, but significantly lower than two years ago.

Tobias Renz was able to celebrate a bit of a record this year: With overall 160 exhibitors from 25 countries, there have never been so many booths on the joint space of Hydrogen + Fuel Cells + Batteries organized by him. One of the reasons for this success may have been the many participants from the US, which alone had sent 21 industry representatives to the German trade show. America was this year’s partner country of the world’s biggest industrial exhibition. (more…)

FuelCell Energy (FCEL, US-$ 1,20) has reported a wide range of orders and technological breakthroughs. At the 2015 Hanover trade show, the biggest fuel cell in the world was presented (4.5 m. long), with an output of 400 kW. The company sees itself to be well on the way to be able to construct innovative, high performance complete FC systems for large scale use (universities, industry, hospitals, and much more) in order to be able to produce clean electricity very efficiently and to put the waste heat to use as well. With the partners O & G Industries and CT Energy + Technologies, an order was gained from the US city/municipal authority Beacon Falls in Connecticut for a 63-MW-FC power plant, which according to the company will be the biggest of its kind in the world when it is complete. Hanover is still the leading sector meeting place for the H2 and FC community. As in previous years, from 13th until 17th April 2015, almost 150 exhibitors presented themselves on the Group Exhibit Hydrogen + Fuel Cells + Batteries in hall 27. Apart from that, however, relatively little was on offer for interested visitors that was worthwhile. The topic of electrical mobility wasn’t as present as it was in previous years. This time (more…)
