HydrogenPro, a Norwegian provider of green hydrogen technologies, has entered into a strategic partnership with the Indian company Thermax. The aim is the joint marketing and further development of alkaline electrolyser systems for large-scale projects in India. Under the agreement, Thermax will receive exclusive rights for the supply, installation, commissioning and after-sales service of electrolyser systems based on HydrogenPro technology. The agreement is already in effect and is intended to be applied in ongoing projects in India.
Technology transfer and local manufacturing
The partnership includes a comprehensive technology transfer. In the future, Thermax will develop and manufacture key systems and balance-of-plant components for integration into the electrolyser stacks. In addition, a test station for short electrolyser stacks is planned at the Thermax site in Pune. HydrogenPro will contribute its expertise in electrode development and coating. According to the company, the technology complies with international standards and certifications.
Goal: Localised turnkey solutions for green hydrogen
Based on the licensed technology, Thermax aims to offer integrated end-to-end solutions for green hydrogen. These will include not only the supply of electrolyser systems but also turnkey project execution (EPC) and services to optimise plant operation. Ashish Bhandari, Managing Director of Thermax, said: “This collaboration enables us to immediately offer market-ready solutions based on alkaline technology for use across various industries in India.” Jarle Dragvik, CEO of HydrogenPro, stated: “The partnership with Thermax gives us an important entry into the country and a solid foothold in the market.”
